STOP THE HHS MANDATE!
Stand up for Religious Freedom Rally - Friday, June 8, 12 Noon

These rallies are called in opposition to the Government's Health and Human Services Mandate which forces religious institutions to provide contraception, sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs in their employee health plans—contrary to religious faith and doctrines.

We are proud and pleased to announce that Archbishop Allen Vigneron will be the keynote presenter at the Detroit rally.

We are sure that he will be joined by brother bishops in other cities across the country as well as other prominent religious leaders from Protestant churches and synagogues.

Stand up for Religious Freedom

What is the HHS Mandate?
In January, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a mandate requiring all employer health plans to include free contraceptives, sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs, regardless of any moral or religious objections. Catholic universities and hospitals will be forced by the federal government to provide services that directly contradict Church teaching.
The HHS Mandate is an unprecedented assault on religious freedom and must be opposed!

U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York and President, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has released a letter to the Bishops giving his thoughts on how we move forward to protect our religious freedom. Please take a moment to read this very important letter from the Cardinal regarding the HHS mandate and religious freedom. Click on the following link to read the letter.

Career Lost to Celiac Disease
Keith Dodich, a young, recently married member of our parish community is in need of our support. Keith and his wife are expecting their first child. Keith has been diagnosed with the genetic condition, Celiac Disease. Keith was tested by doctors over the years but no one could diagnose his condition accurately. Despite being ill, Keith was able to graduate from college, complete aviation training and work his way up the ranks of the airlines as a commercial airline pilot. Unfortunately, with Keith's disease being undiagnosed for so many years, his symptoms caught up with him and he lost his employment with the airlines. Now that Keith has been properly diagnosed and is following his gluten free diet, he is completely symptom free and is feeling better now than he has in at least 10 years. He is attempting to get his job back. Keith realizes that this is bigger than himself, many lives are on the line. Awareness and justice will save lives.

You can help Keith. Go to http://glutenfreepilot.wordpress.com/. There you can find out more about Keith's campaign and about Celiac disease.
