Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is an invitation and celebration of the Spirit’s presence in our lives. In faith, we expect to be filled anew with grace and power.  Confirmation at the National Shrine is usually received in the fall of the ninth-grade year after successful completion of a two-year period of intense preparation during grades seven and eight. Older candidates can also be accommodated. The preparation aims to lead candidates to ownership of their Faith and active ministry involvement including participation in the Shrine C.R.E.W. (Catholic, Relationships, Evangelization, Worship) Youth Group.
