CHRISTIAN SERVICE COMMISSION
The Christian Service Commission exists as a model and resource of Catholic Social Teaching to enable the entire parish community to put the social teaching of the Church into action. The Commission empowers the members of the National Shrine Parish to fulfill the Church's mission of love, justice, freedom and peace by communally responding in an organized way to meet the needs of the community. Through various projects, parishioners are involved in programs and activities that help extend Christ's healing touch to those in need. The commission is involved in a wide-range of activities at the local, national and international level. Pastoral care is also an important part of the Commission. The National Shrine Christian Service Commission meets monthly. The various groups hold activities throughout the year.
