ALTAR SERVERS
ADULT SERVERS
In July 1996, Monsignor William H. Easton encouraged parishoner Bill Dixon to establish a team of men to serve as adult altar servers to assist in celebrating funeral Masses for the National Shrine Community. This group consists of generally senior men who enjoy the opportunity of helping out at Mass in this special way. To find out more information, please call Jim Jirkans.
CHILD SERVERS
Most of the altar servers at the National Shrine are young people. Training is held in September for boys and girls, fifth grade and older, who
wish to serve in this special ministry. Servers are needed for all liturgies,
including weekday and weekend Masses, weddings, funerals and special
events. This ministry is open to any young person, not just Shrine Catholic School students. To become involved, call Ellen Kehoe.
