It is with great excitement that we announce the 2024 Annual Raffle! This is a Parish and Schools fundraiser. Since we will not have an auction or gala, this raffle will be our biggest fundraiser this year. Our goal is $200,000 of which the net proceeds will be distributed among four groups; the Parish, the Grade School, the High School, and the Academy. Each of these groups will determine how best to use their share of the net proceeds from the raffle, being good and prudent stewards with the funds entrusted to them.
The Schools will kick off this raffle at their respective assembly on Friday, March 8, 2024. The Parish kick-off will begin a week later on Monday, March 15, 2024. Each school family will be expected to sell 20 tickets at $10 each for a total of $200. Each Parishioner is expected to buy or sell a minimum of 10 tickets at $10 each.
The raffle drawing will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 between 6pm (immediately following the 4:30pm Mass) and 8pm at the Grade School. These festivities will have a Mexican theme, including Mexican food and music as a head start to the celebration of Cinco de Mayo (May 5th). All are welcome and no tickets are required, although as we get closer to the fiesta we will ask for reservations for an accurate food order.
The prizes are: Grand Prize $5,000 2nd Prize $1,500 3rd Prize $1,000
There will also be three (3) additional prizes of $500 for each of the following drawings for those parishioners and school families who sell ALL 10 or 20 of their tickets and return their sold tickets and money by the following dates:
March 22, 2024
April 12, 2024
April 26, 2024
In addition to these aforementioned prizes, each School Administrator will determine individual goals and prizes for their students.
Tickets and money can be dropped off at the parish office for parishioners and at the respective school for the school families. Please note that the State of Michigan requires ALL tickets be accounted for – therefore ALL ticketssold or not sold must be returned to the parish office or the students’ respective school.
Please contact the Parish Office if you need additional tickets.
I thank you in advance for your great generosity and efforts in making this year’s raffle a great success for the whole Shrine community!
Truly yours in Christ,
Rev. John R. Bettin
